Log Line: In the year 2020 a matchmaking supercomputer has taken the place of dating, but when Linda Matthews and Andrew Fielding stay to the old traditions they soon find their love in danger from an evil tycoon who thinks Linda is his perfect match.

Background:

It seems like there are more matchmaking services every year. I figured it was only a matter of time before technology was applied. That’s how I came up with the idea of WAND (World Algorithmic Net Decoder). This device uses psychological profiles, genetic decryption, and a host of other biographical and geographical data to calculate the identity of your soul mate. The answer is then printed out for you, much like an ATM would give you a bank balance.

This script portrays a world close to our own save for a few technological marvels like WAND, exploding bullets, and hologram technology. Greenback currency has been converted to “credits.” The settings are present day Los Angeles for the most part.
If pressed to slap a high concept on this script, I would say it was a blend of “Gattaca” and “Indecent Proposal.” If that sounds weird, then read the script and you’ll see what I mean.
