Icarus

Flowing like tears,
Shining and molten,
It spirals down from the heights.
His eyes roam the horizon
Oblivious to the dangers lurking below_
Those silent monoliths of stone
Upraised against the wind and warring surf.
While high above,
His stolen wings begin to flutter madly.
Faint cries of warning go unheeded
As genius meets passion.
The framework is revealed
In swirling confusion.
Nature lashes back
To heal its broken law.
But hope never dies,
And each drop of wax
Forms a candle,
Lighting the way for the next.
